Wafer Systems ( China ) Co., Ltd., a NGN solution and service provider, announces that the company inked an implementation contract with China Unicom's Sichuan

Sichuan Unicom's voice and data integrated service network is a part of China Unicom's nationwide UniONE network. It extends and expands business services of China Unicom's existing backbone networks locally via local access networks. Hence, it will ensure that integrated service users of China Unicom's access networks have access to backbone networks, especially for nationwide data, voice, and video businesses of large-sized companies.

Wafer Systems is in fully cooperative with Sichuan Unicom in providing network building, operation support, value-added service, and business promotion in the project. Before official starting of the project, the company spent over one year with Cisco Systems and the telecom carrier discussing technology and market requirements of the project, and they conducted large amount of product testing, planning, and marketing survey. The network planning process has taken consideration of the current status and future objectives of Sichuan Unicom's backbone networks. With focus on resources sharing and business integration, the design adopts MPLS technologies in network construction to ensure good scalability. In the area of value-added services, the partners decides to apply flexible access methods and broad-band services aiming at various final users. These methods help the telecom carrier develop many affiliated services and value-added broad-band businesses.
