Wafer Systems, a leading network solutions and services provider today announced the first carrier grade IP telephony billing and management system that can help small-to-medium telecom service providers improve their billing management and allow them to provide more enhanced services on Voice over IP (VoIP) networks.

In recent years, IP technology has developed rapidly that further helped expand and made the telecom market, particularly in Greater China, very competitive. With China's accession to WTO, new telecom providers including small-to-medium service providers have entered the market, however staying competitive will largely depend on their ability to provide comprehensive IP solutions to customers, as well as having a complete and integrated business management and billing systems in place.

Mr. Ringo Chan, CEO of Wafer Systems said, " We've long seen the potential of IP technology playing a key role in further pushing the telecom industry. We've been constantly gathering customer feedback, which our Systems and Network Integration team in our Xian Solutions Centre used to develop the most comprehensive VoIP Billing and Management System. This system is rich in functionalities that will surely offer significant benefits to telecom service providers including ISPs and ASPs who are currently in the midst of implementing VoIP networks."

For service and telecom providers, the competitive issue today is not because of the price point difference of offering IP based services, but rather in enhancing their services on VoIP networks which could translate into more profit. With Wafer System's VoIP Billing and Management System, they could effectively manage and administer their billing systems, thus allowing them to enhance their services to satisfy customers.

One major concern of today's telecom operators is how to manage their complicated primary call billing system.
